Ronda Rousey's Return Likely a One-and-Done Deal

Former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is set to return to competition after a decade on May 16 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. "Rowdy" will face fellow women's MMA pioneer Gina Carano under Most Valuable Promotions.

Rousey, 39, last fought in December 2016, while Carano, 43, has not competed since August 2009. Despite the long hiatuses, both remain household names in the sport. For Rousey, this comeback is likely a one-time event.

When asked about the possibility of more fights during the Rousey vs. Carano Kickoff Press Conference, Rousey responded, "I guess it depends on how this one goes."

She added, "But man, I really want some more babies. And it's getting to the point in my life where I can't really be taking any more detours and I really want to be fully present for my, you know, my husband and my kids. And it gets to the point where it's like when are you going to be impressed enough with yourself to spend some time with your family."

Rousey continued, "I feel like this is me trying to rewrite my ending with Gina and maybe it's like a Lord of the Rings ending that keeps going on and on and on, or maybe it's a grand finale ... But I promised my husband this was definitely the last one."
